Baby Malachi, A History

Print copy of Rules of Conduct and Conduct Agreement form.

Rules of Conduct

1. There are designated spokespersons who will speak to the media and police. Media personnel should identify themselves. Please LET THE PICTURES SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. Consider spending the time in prayer for all those hurt by and involved in the abortion industry and all Christians who are called by God to defend those unable to protect themselves.

2. Stand exactly where you are positioned. Turn the sign on an angle to the traffic. Turn the sign to the inside edge of the sidewalk if pedestrians are passing. Do not block drivers' view at driveways or intersections. Watch the pro-lifers around you and be aware of details of unusual situations. We will be taking a video of the event.

3. If approached by a passer-by who wants to discuss the issue please assess the situation and decide if the person wants a sincere discussion or is just looking for an audience or argument. Do not engage in an argument. Discuss politely and quietly. Do not initiate a conversation. "A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS". Please do not become involved in a discussion between a pro-lifer and a passer-by unless invited by the pro-lifer. It can be intimidating for the passer-by to be outnumbered and confusing to the pro-lifer to be distracted from the conversation .

4. A typical reaction is, “That picture is obscene or disgusting." Do not agree with that statement. Say rather, “Abortion is obscene .... disgusting.” (A small difference in language but makes a great deal of difference legally.) We are showing the victims of abortion. Abortion must be stopped, and until it is we are committed to showing the truth.

5. If a passer-by or a person operating an establishment asks you to leave or remove your sign, politely tell him/her that you have a constitutional right to be there.

6. If the police approach you refer them to the leader of the group. Be polite and cooperative and simply state that you understand that what you are doing is legal. Do not try to involve the police in a debate about abortion or the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Try to remain firm but do not antagonize.

NOTE: ONLY OFFICIAL SIGNS AND LITERATURE CAN BE USED!
